    Mark has 25 years of audit and business advisory experience, which includes two years on staff with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Mark specializes in serving a variety of clients in the technology, manufacturing, distribution, and banking sectors. Mark is a graduate of Utah State University and has a Master’s degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants. Mark is also the chairman of the National Advisory Board for the Utah State University Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.

    Braxton has eight years of audit and business advisory experience in a variety of industries. During this time, Braxton has obtained experience conducting due diligence and other transaction consulting for companies in private equity, insurance, technology, SAAS, manufacturing, hospitality/resorts, and professional services. He has also led and consulted ERP/CRM system implementations. Braxton received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting at Southern Utah University. Before joining Tanner, Braxton previously worked as an assistant controller and on the acquisitions and mergers due diligence team at one of the largest privately held insurance brokerages in the United States.

    Tax Partner

    Heather has over 15 years of experience serving public and private companies. Prior to joining Tanner, she was with a Big 4 accounting firm in Salt Lake City. Heather has experience from serving companies in multiple industries including hospitality, technology, construction, real estate, private investment, and professional services. Heather understands multiple phases of tax compliance and consulting, including consolidated filing issues, international tax, partnerships, S corporations, individual tax, and tax provisions. Heather graduated at the top of her class from Utah State University and currently serves on the School of Accountancy’s advisory board. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants.

    Garrett has over 18 years of public accounting experience serving companies in the technology sector. Drawing on his background in the Bay Area, Garrett moved to Salt Lake City and began providing tax consulting services to his clientele, including both public and private organizations, focusing on solving tax issues faced by his tech clients. He has advised his clients in various acquisition, disposition, and reorganization transactions, providing industry knowledge and experience on complicated tax issues. Garrett is a Certified Tax Coach and is trained to help companies plan and think through their tax strategy. Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Accountancy in taxation from Brigham Young University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants.

    Leadership Solutions Practice Leader

    Gary joined Tanner following careers with Jackson Leadership Systems and the United States military. He specializes in human resources, organizational design, and leadership. He brings two decades of experience serving very large organizations including BASF, Crawford & Company, Mid-Atlantic Finance Company, PetroValves, members of The Crown Group, PKF North America, and many others. Gary will bring a unique perspective to the areas of human resources and governance that will form a key part of our analysis. Additional specialties include executive coaching and development, conflict management, rewards and recognition and public speaking. He received his B.Sc. in Psychology and his M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Idaho.
