Mark has over 25 years of audit and business advisory experience, which includes two years on staff with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Mark specializes in serving a variety of clients in the technology, manufacturing, distribution, and banking sectors. Mark is a graduate of Utah State University and has a master’s degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants. Mark is also the chairman of the National Advisory Board for the Utah State University Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.

Braxton Savage
Manager – Transaction Advisory Services
Braxton has over 8 years of audit and business advisory experience. Braxton received his Bachelor’s and Master’s in accounting at Southern Utah University. As a licensed CPA and CM&AA (Certified Mergers & Acquisition Advisor), he brings a wealth of expertise to his clients. His comprehensive skill set has been honed through conducting due diligence and providing transaction consulting for companies spanning a wide range of industries and size. His contributions to the field have been recognized through accolades such as being named a Utah Business “20 in their 20s” Honoree. Before joining Tanner, Braxton previously worked as an assistant controller and on the acquisition team at one of the largest privately held insurance brokerages in the United States. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants. Braxton is actively involved in industry leadership as an executive committee member and founding member.

Heather Allen
Tax Partner
Heather has over 19 years of experience serving public and private companies. Prior to joining Tanner, she was with a Big 4 accounting firm in Salt Lake City. Heather has experience from serving companies in multiple industries including technology, Saas, construction, manufacturing, real estate, private investment, and professional services. Heather understands multiple phases of tax compliance and consulting, including consolidated filing issues, international tax, partnerships, S corporations, individual tax, and tax provisions. Heather graduated at the top of her class from Utah State University and currently serves on the School of Accountancy’s advisory board. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants..

Garrett Koerner
Tax Partner
Garrett has over 20 years of public accounting experience serving companies in a wide variety of industries, including service businesses. Drawing on his background in the Bay Area, Garrett moved to Salt Lake City and began providing tax consulting services to his clientele, including both public and private organizations. He has advised his clients in various acquisition, disposition, and reorganization transactions, providing industry knowledge and experience on complicated tax issues. Garrett is a Certified Tax Coach and is trained to help companies plan and think through their tax strategy. Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Accountancy in taxation from Brigham Young University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants. Garrett has been involved with several local business organizations in the past, including the Salt Lake Chamber’s Capitol Club, and has been an adjunct accounting instructor at the University of Utah.
