About Dave
With a public accounting career that began in 1987, Dave Hoopes brings over three decades of experience serving both public and private companies across a range of industries, including SaaS, manufacturing, distribution, nonprofit organizations, and employee benefit plans.
Dave’s professional journey has spanned firms of every size: 15 years at “Big Five” firm Arthur Andersen, additional experience at KPMG and CBIZ MHM, and time at both national and local CPA firms. He also spent seven years consulting as an expert witness in high-stakes securities litigation involving broker-dealer and financial institution disputes.
Known for his technical depth, Dave advises clients on complex accounting issues related to mergers and acquisitions, revenue recognition, capital transactions, international operations, and audit readiness for both multinational public companies and closely held businesses.
A proud graduate of Brigham Young University, Dave serves on the Utah Valley University Accounting Advisory Board and volunteers as a weekly financial literacy instructor at the Utah State Prison. He is a licensed CPA in both Utah and New York and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA).
When he’s not working, you’ll likely find Dave out on the golf course, catching a game, or under the hood of his 1968 classic Mustang.
