Joni is a strategic and results-oriented Tanner tax partner, skilled in offering practical and pertinent advice on a broad range of technical matters, including multi-scenario tax modeling for proposed transactions, long-term incentive compensation planning, audit and tax authority resolution management, domestic and international payroll reporting and withholding, and overall tax cost management. She enjoys guiding clients through potential tax implications of transactions, drawing upon extensive tax expertise cultivated over 25 years of dedicated work in personal and employee mobility tax fields. Prior to joining Tanner, Joni served as a partner at a “Big Four” firm across four U.S. locations and completed a five-year international assignment in Tokyo, Japan.

As both a partner and a mother of three daughters, Joni is deeply committed to nurturing women leaders and actively strives to motivate future tax professionals in realizing their leadership aspirations. She holds a Master of Accountancy (with a tax emphasis) and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Brigham Young University. Actively engaged in professional circles, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and presently serves on the Advisory Board for Brigham Young University’s School of Accounting.
