Charley Shumway

Charley has over 20 years of experience specializing in tax return preparation and consulting services for multi-tiered partnerships / LLCs, funds, family-owned businesses, and corporate and individual clients. He has a broad experience base along with deep experience serving PE and VC backed companies. Charley also has experience in tax preparation and planning, complex partnership cash waterfall analysis, income allocations, reorganizations and liquidations, formation of partnerships and deal structuring. He has significant experience working with and resolving federal, state, and local tax matters including representation before the Internal Revenue Service and Utah State Tax Commission. Prior to joining Tanner, Charley gained his experience while at a Big 4 accounting firm, small local, and regional firms. Charley is a graduate of Southern Utah University where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Utah Association for Certified Public Accountants. the Women Tech Council.
