About Heather
Heather has over 20 years of public accounting experience, specializing in corporate tax compliance, ASC 740 tax provisions, consolidated filings, multistate and international taxation, Section 1202/QSBS, and partnership structures. She works with a wide range of clients—including public and private companies, C corporations, S corporations, and partnerships—across industries such as technology, SaaS, hospitality, construction, manufacturing, consumer products, private investment, and professional services.
Before joining Tanner, Heather began her career at Deloitte in Salt Lake City, where she built a strong foundation in technical tax and consulting. She is known for her collaborative approach, technical precision, and passion for helping innovative companies and individuals navigate complex tax matters.
Heather received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from Utah State University, where she graduated at the top of her class. She now serves on the School of Accountancy’s Advisory Board. Heather is a licensed CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants and also serves on the Allinial Tax Committee.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys traveling, the theater, spending time with family and friends, playing the piano, and cheering for our local collegiate and professional sports teams.
