Garrett Koerner delivers strategic tax solutions that drive measurable business value, drawing on more than 20 years of experience across public and private companies. He launched his career in the Bay Area with a national accounting firm and now serves as a trusted advisor to organizations in the technology, consumer products, real estate, manufacturing, and professional services sectors.
Working directly with founders, finance leaders and executive teams, Garrett creates value through comprehensive tax strategy, complex transaction structuring, and seamless execution. He guides clients through critical tax due diligence processes, optimizes accounting methods, and ensures complex transactions align with long-term business objectives. His expertise encompasses compliance and reporting, accounting for income taxes (ASC 740), and sophisticated tax structuring for acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations. He brings a proactive, forward-thinking approach that helps clients minimize risk, protect outcomes, and plan with confidence.
Garrett earned both his bachelor’s degree and Master of Accountancy in taxation from Brigham Young University. He maintains active membership in the AICPA and UACPA and has shared his expertise as an adjunct instructor at the University of Utah. Beyond client service, Garrett is passionate about cultivating the next generation of accounting leaders through active involvement in the firm’s recruiting and professional development efforts. He is quick to mentor professionals and believes strongly that developing talent will unlock career opportunities and determine the future of the profession.
A Texas native and dedicated sports enthusiast, Garrett is a collector of premium sneakers, an avid consumer of 90s alternative music and an optimistic Dallas-area sports fan.
