Griffiths named to national CPA board

Dan Griffiths, Director of Strategy & Leadership at Tanner LLC, has been named to the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The AICPA is the world’s largest member association, representing the accounting profession with 412,000 members in 144 countries. The association sets the ethical standards for the profession and U.S. auditing standards for audits of private companies, nonprofit organizations, federal, state and local governments.

Dan has served in a variety of capacities within the AICPA, including most recently as a member of the AICPA governing council.  He previously chaired the Young CPA Network committee.

“I’m deeply honored to serve on the AICPA board,” said Dan Griffiths. “Because of our profession’s long history and commitment to objectivity and integrity, we are a tremendous force for good in the world.  I look forward to building on that legacy.”

Dan earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accountancy from Brigham Young University where he graduated summa cum laude and was recently named the 2016 Outstanding Alumnus by the BYU School of Accountancy.  In 2015, he was honored with the AICPA Outstanding Young CPA Award and as a recipient of the Utah Business Magazine Forty Under 40 recognition. In 2011, the Utah Association of CPA’s recognized Dan as the Outstanding CPA in Business and Management.
